A Sept. 1 article on Sonoma County harvest yields gave a figure of 4.2 tons per acre. The correct figure is 2.6 tons per acre. The reporter used a number from a 2019 article about a different county.
A Sept. 2 profile of a Willamette Valley winemaker referred to him throughout as Gerald. His name is Gary.
A Sept. 2 tasting report described a Chablis as showing struck flint and white peach. No member of this publication tasted the wine. The note was taken from the producer’s website.
A Sept. 3 article on distributor consolidation quoted a regional sales manager at length. The regional sales manager does not exist. He was described to our reporter over the phone by a source who has since stopped responding.
A Sept. 3 news item reported that a Paso Robles winery had sold for $14 million. The winery has not sold. A photograph of a for-sale sign at a neighboring property was the sole basis for the report.
A Sept. 4 article on smoke exposure in the 2026 vintage was published in error. It has not been written.
An Aug. 28 correction stated that this publication maintains a fact-checking department.
