Guest Who Announced He Doesn't Really Like Chardonnay Handed Chardonnay
"This one's different," associate says for the 4,000th time in eleven months.
Nodding warmly through the man’s unprompted disclosure that he was strictly a red drinker and had frankly never understood white wine at all, tasting room staff at Corliss Family Cellars poured guest Doug Nesheim a Chardonnay on Saturday, sources confirmed. “Oh, this one’s different,” said associate Bree Tolan, deploying a phrase she has said 4,000 times in eleven months. “This isn’t like the Chardonnays you’re thinking of.” Nesheim, who reportedly tasted it, held it, and said “huh,” went on to explain to his wife that he actually does like Chardonnay when it’s made correctly, that most Chardonnay is not made correctly, and that he had been saying this for years. At press time, he was reciting the same speech at the next winery.
