Winery Adds Fourth Tasting Tier Solely To Make Third Tier Seem Reasonable

New $495 Founder's Table experience is a fence post, not a product, executives confirm.

Unveiling the new $495 Founder’s Table experience to extensive internal fanfare Monday, executives at Marchetti Estate confirmed the offering exists entirely so that the $185 Library Flight will register as a sensible middle option, sources reported. “Nobody buys the Founder’s Table. Nobody is supposed to buy the Founder’s Table,” said DTC director Kyle Ambrose, explaining that the tier is not a product but a fence post. “It’s there so the guest looks at the $185 and thinks, well, I’m being responsible. Last year the $185 was the top tier and people thought it was insane. Compared to the Founders Table experience, it barely looks insane anymore.” Ambrose added that the winery is currently developing a $1,200 tier so that next year the Founder’s Table can begin selling.
