Winery Emails Customer 'We Miss You' Six Days After Purchase

Re-engagement message arrives while box from winery hasn't arrived to customer's house.

Deploying a re-engagement campaign designed to win back lapsed buyers, Thorne Ridge Vineyards emailed customer Marissa Ault on Tuesday to say that it missed her, six days after she spent $340 on wine, sources confirmed. “It’s been a while! We’d love to see you again,” read the message, which arrived while a box from the winery was delayed in transit to her house. “Here’s 10% off to welcome you back.” Ault, who received the discount code six days too late to have used it on the order it was congratulating her for not placing, reportedly replied to the address, which does not accept replies. At press time, tracking information revealed that the wine was sitting in the back of an abandoned trailer in Fort Worth’s 107 degree heat wave.
