Man Selects Wine Based On Animal

Shopper returns for second bottle featuring a different, smaller fox.

Standing before a 600-bottle retail set featuring extensive shelf talkers, regional callouts, and staff recommendations, shopper Terry Halvorsen selected a wine Friday on the basis of animal, sources confirmed. “This one’s got a fox,” said Halvorsen, who had briefly considered a bird. “Foxes are pretty smart.” Halvorsen, who has purchased wine this way for 22 years and has never been disappointed in a manner he could articulate, confirmed he steers clear of anything with a château on it because those are trying too hard. At press time, he had gone back for a second bottle featuring a different, smaller fox.
